An underglaze blue and overglazed enamelled dish for the Japanese market, Ming dynasty, Chongzheng period (1628-1644)

Densely painted with a rabbit or hare to the centre, with eight radiating diaper panels, inset with four circular bird medallions, 14.3cm diameter, Fu mark to the base.

Provenance: Exhibit no.130 named ‘Iroe Marumonn Kozara’ 色絵丸文小皿 at the exhibition: Kosometsuke and Shonzui: Momoyama culture meets Jindezhen kiln 桃山文化と景徳鎮窯の出合い, dated 15th-27th October 1981 at the Takashimaya Department Store, Yokohama, Japan.
